Database and Workflow
One of the unique advantages of outsourcing with Aspyr is a concise, easy to use database that is accessible to any authorized user via Internet connection. Each bug includes screenshots, DXdiag or system profile and will be written in a standardized bug format. Another feature of our database is the multitude of customizable reporting features available to any user at any time.

Test Plan Preparation
A test plan is used to outline the scope, approach and application of resources necessary to effectively organize and manage the testing efforts of your product.

Project Metrics and Reporting
We make metrics interpretation easier by providing user-friendly information for all aspects of our QA work. Some examples of the reporting and metrics available to our customers include frequent build assessments, milestone reports, project status reports, trend reporting and our departmental operational report.

Compliance (TCR, TRC Lot Check)
From pre-submission to final approval, the Aspyr Technical Certification Team (or “TC”), is responsible for the compliance and submission testing of all game platforms during the testing cycle. Aspyr’s TC Team is fully capable of testing for all third-party technical requirements in the gaming industry including Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.

Hardware Compatibility Testing
Hardware Compatibility Testing ensures that the game is functional on all supported hardware configurations and the supported user will have as few technical issues as possible. All compatibility testing is performed by Aspyr’s in house Compatibility Lab (or “Compat”).

Functionality Testing
We focus primarily on black, and some grey, box testing utilizing a mixture of test cases, (comprising 40% of the tests), and ad-hoc gameplay testing, (comprising the remaining 60% of the tests). This balance between documented test cases and creatively playing the game is extremely delicate, and we have found our 40/60% mix to be ideal.

Gameplay and Balance Testing
Also known as Usability testing, these tests are employed throughout the development and test cycle of a project to determine how well your potential audience will react to your product. Game difficulty, complexity, balancing of specific in-game functionality and ease-of-use are a few of the areas we look at during this testing service.

Performance/Stress Testing
This method of testing is used to evaluate the compliance of a system or component within specified performance requirements. One example of this would be framerate testing.

Online/Multiplayer Testing
Whatever the genre or platform, we are fully capable of testing any game with an online component whether it is LAN, Internet or direct IP.

Regression Testing
Regression testing is performed throughout the test cycle, in order to validate a programmer’s fix for a specific bug. We understand that quick, accurate feedback is essential during the product development cycle, so all bug regressions are performed immediately upon receipt of each new build.

Localization Testing
This is the process where a product made for one region is translated for additional regions. This could include, but is not limited to, altering of text, sound, visual effects, ReadMe’s, manuals, and certain hardware specification requirements.

Patch and Demo Testing
We provide quick, targeted testing and feedback regarding your demo to ensure the customer’s experience will not be one of frustration due to bugs or incomplete functionality. We specifically test each issue to verify its validity, as well as the programmer’s fix.
