Lead Programmer
Aspyr Studios is looking for an experienced game programmer to lead an original PC development team. Candidates should be located in Austin, Texas (or willing to relocate) with a strong programming and project lead background in the game industry. The Lead Programmer position will split time between technical management of the project, providing direction to other programming team members, and coding.
Requirements:
- 6 to 10 years of programming experience on Windows.
- Ability to manage a team of 4-5 programmers.
- Ability to assess complex technical problems, propose solutions and manage implementation details.
- Fluency in C/C++.
- Strong debugging skills, including ability to work with large existing codebases.
- Familiarity with source code control systems, i.e. Perforce.
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
- Ability to work within schedule constraints.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work productively with minimum supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Mid and Senior level PC & Console Game Programmers
Aspyr Studios is filling out new development teams for future PC and console game projects. We are looking for candidates located in Austin, Texas (or willing to relocate) with strong programming backgrounds in game development. Candidates with experience in relevant programming fields (real time graphics, sound, networking) who do not have direct game industry experience will be considered. Projects will involve original game development and porting commercial games between platforms (Windows, PS2, Xbox, 360, PS3, Wii).
Requirements:
- 2 to 5+ years of programming experience on Windows and/or game consoles (Xbox, PS2, 360, PS3, Gamecube/Wii).
- Experience with PS2, Xbox 360, or Wii development a strong plus.
- Experience working on at least 1-2 completed commercial games highly preferred.
- Fluency in C/C++.
- Strong debugging skills, including ability to work with large existing codebases.
- Familiarity with source code control systems, i.e. Perforce.
- Background in Direct3D a plus.
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
- Ability to work within schedule constraints.
- Ability to schedule one’s own tasks realistically.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work productively with minimum supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
